It can often be difficult to attempt to view your own life objectively and determine what your greatest accomplishments are, but it is important so that you can communicate your value to other people (e.g. during job interviews). A good place to start is by asking some questions:
- What, that you have achieved, are you most proud of? You might be most proud of an academic accomplishment, such as winning the science fair; an athletic accomplishment, such as being named MVP on a league championship basketball team; a philanthropic achievement, such as volunteering for a charity you care about; or even a personal achievement, such as learning a new language or teaching yourself to play an instrument.
- What about yourself are you most eager to tell a new acquaintance?
- What have you accomplished that is unique? Can you do something that your friends cannot?
If you are still stumped, trying asking your friends or family what they consider your greatest accomplishment to be. This might help you realize that something you consider normal is actually quite special.
